Box Score CHICAGO – The University of Chicago men's basketball team suffered a hard-fought loss to Carnegie Mellon University on Friday afternoon in their UAA conference home opener at the Gerald Ratner Athletics Center. Despite a strong second-half effort, the Maroons fall to 10-3 on the season and 1-1 in UAA play.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- UChicago struggled offensively in the first half, shooting just 18.8% (6-32) from the field and 14.3% (2-14) from beyond the arc. Despite this, the Maroons were only down by one heading into halftime.
- The Maroons battled hard, particularly on the boards, where they outrebounded the Tartans 38-31, including a 12-7 advantage on the offensive glass. As the offense took a slow start, Chicago found different ways to keep themselves competitive in the game.
- UChicago's defense was active throughout the contest, forcing eight turnovers and limiting Carnegie Mellon's second-chance points to just four. The game featured a total of nine lead changes and five ties, but Carnegie Mellon's strong closing run ultimately sealed their victory.
- Leading the way for the Maroons was Eamonn Kenah, who finished with a team-high 15 points, six rebounds, and one assist in 34 minutes of play. Thomas Kurowski added 13 points and Joe Berry contributed 13 points and three rebounds, while Daniel Cochran chipped in with seven points and 12 rebounds, providing a much-needed spark on the boards.
