Rochester, N.Y. – In a thrilling back-and-forth battle on the road, the University of Chicago men's basketball team pulled out a 65-62 victory over Rochester on January 26, improving to 13-3 overall and 4-1 in UAA play. The game was a tense contest throughout, with both teams exchanging leads multiple times and battling in the paint. Despite a slow start, UChicago used a strong second-half performance to secure the win.

• In the second half, UChicago found its rhythm offensively, shooting 53.6% from the field and 90% from the free-throw line. Key performances from Joe Berry (19 points) and Daniel Cochran (17 points) helped fuel the Maroons' comeback, while the team's defense tightened, limiting Rochester's fast breaks and forcing difficult shots. UChicago's ability to execute down the stretch, particularly from the free-throw line (12-15 overall), proved crucial as they held off a late push from Rochester.
• The win showcased UChicago's resilience, as they battled through a slow start and capitalized on key moments in the second half. With five players contributing seven or more points, including Thomas Kurowski (13 points) and Jackson Piotrowski (five points, three rebounds), UChicago displayed balanced scoring to secure the victory.
