CHICAGO, Ill. -- The University of Chicago women's volleyball team will finally return home after being on the road for over a month. In the first-ever UChicago Triangular, the Maroons will host Denison University and North Park University for matches at 11 AM, 1:30 PM, and 4 PM.

(RV) UNIVERSITY OF CHICAGO NOTES:

* UChicago enters the weekend with a 9-9 overall record. 
* In the UAA Round Robin #2 last Sunday, the Maroons took down #6 Emory and Brandeis for a weekend sweep. 
* UChicago has played eight top-20 teams this season. They've compiled a 3-5 record in those contests; the three wins come from top-10 teams. 
* The most recent win over #6 Emory now puts Coach McPartland at 16 ranked wins throughout his tenure. 
* Diya Mishra became the 13th player in program history to surpass 1,000 career kills. She sits at 1,096 for her career, which ranks ninth in school history. 
* Earlier this season, Mishra became the first player since Maggie McInerney in 2023 to record 20+ kills and 15+ digs in a single match. Mishra recorded 21 kills and 17 digs in the five-set win over #8 Hope College.
* Gabi Spellings and Mishra were recently named the UAA Defensive and Offensive Players of the Week. In the win over Emory, Spellings recorded a season-high nine blocks at the net. Over the weekend, Mishra had 29 kills with a .279 hitting percentage. 
* Hillary Cheung leads the team with 303 assists. The graduate student averages 5.22 per set, which ranks seventh in the UAA. 
* After hosting the triangular, Chicago will host the third UAA Round Robin on October 26. 

DENISON NOTES: 

* Denison enters the match with an 8-11 overall record and a 0-3 conference record. 
* The Big Red are currently on a five-game losing streak. Their last win was in September over Bluffton University. 
* Despite the losses, Denison remains dangerous as its best win was over #3 Hope College, 3-2, earlier this season. 
* Claire Hamilton leads the team with 209 kills on the year. The junior is averaging 3.12 kills a set and a .155 hitting percentage. 
* With an impressive 519 assists this season, Alice Kempf has been a rock for the Big Red. The senior is averaging 8.11 assists per set and ranks second in the NCAC. 
* Freshman Carolina Parkhurst has been a force at the net with 33 blocks on the year.  
* Following their matches with UChicago and North Park, Denison will return to NCAC play as they prepare to host DePauw on Tuesday night.  

NORTH PARK NOTES: 

* The Vikings come into the weekend with a 16-6 record. 
* North Park is currently on a losing streak. The Vikings picked up their last win over Governors State on October 3, but have fallen in their last three. 
* Meg Rothermel leads the team with 171 kills this season. Averaging 2.16 kills per set, the junior is sitting at a .321 attacking percentage. 
* Leading the team with 763 assists on the year, Kendal Britton has been outstanding for North Park. The junior is averaging 9.54 assists per set and has served up 45 aces throughout the season. 
* Rothermel and Riana Hayes are leading the team's defense. Recording 113 of the Vikings' total 122 blocks, the duo has been a defensive unit. 
* Following their match with UChicago, North Park will prepare to host Millikin University on Wednesday night. 

SERIES HISTORY:

* The Maroons and the Big Red have only matched up once in 2008. 
* In that match, Chicago earned the 3-0 sweep over Denison. 
* Chicago leads North Park 16-10 all-time. 
* In last year's win, Chicago swept the Vikings. Diya Mishra recorded seven kills and four digs, and Thalita Marangon recorded six kills.
