CHICAGOÂ -- The University of Chicago football team battles for first place on Saturday as the team hosts the (RV) Monmouth College Scots in a matchup of unbeatens in MWC play.
UNIVERSITY OF CHICAGO NOTES:
* The Maroons enter the weekend with a 6-1 record overall and a 6-0 record in Midwest Conference play.
* The game between UChicago and Monmouth serves as the pseudo Midwest Conference Championship game with the winner needing just one win in their final two games to earn the NCAA Tournament berth.
* The 6-0 start to conference play for UChicago is their best start since 1913 (7-0) when the Maroons won both the National Championship and Big Ten Championship.
* UChicago recorded back-to-back shutouts earlier this season for the first time since 2023 with their 52-0 win over Knox and 66-0 win over Lawrence.

Walter Kilgore is the only player in NCAA DIII and one of only six players in all levels of the NCAA with three 50+-yard field goals made this season, joining kickers from Oklahoma, Iowa, Memphis, Jacksonville State, and New Hampshire.
* This is the first time since 1999 that the UChicago defense has allowed 21 points or fewer in their first seven games. They rank sixth in NCAA Division III, allowing only 10.3 PPG.
* The Maroons lead NCAA Division III in third-down defense, allowing their opponents to convert just 14.0% of the time.
* UChicago rushed for over 300 yards as a team in back-to-back games in the wins over Lawrence and Ripon. This was the first time the Maroons achieved this feat since 2021.

Jack Ruff and
Max Ruff have each thrown a touchdown pass three different times this season. This season marks the first time in UChicago's recorded history that a pair of brothers has thrown a touchdown in the same game.
* Following their clash with Monmouth, the Maroons will hit the road for their penultimate game of the season as they travel to Beloit to battle the Buccaneers on Saturday, November 8.
(RV) MONMOUTH COLLEGE NOTES:Â
* Monmouth enters the weekend with a 6-1Â record overall and a 6-0Â record in Midwest Conference play.
* The Scots are coming off a 72-0 win over Beloit on Saturday.
* Monmouth has been outstanding this season on both sides of the ball. They are outscoring their opponents by an average score of 49.7 to 8.7 in 2025.
* Brayden Deem leads the Midwest Conference and ranks top-40 in NCAA Division III with 16 passing touchdowns this season.
* Chase Newman also ranks ninth in NCAA DIII with 10 receiving touchdowns on the season.
* Nate Wrublick also leads the MWC and ranks top-15Â in NCAA Division III with 10 rushing touchdowns.
* On the defensive side, Anthony Cikauskas has been the leader of the Scots with 13.5 tackles for loss on the year.
* Following their game with UChicago, the Scots will return to April Zorn Memorial Stadium for a home matchup with Ripon College.
SERIES HISTORY:
* The University of Chicago leads the all-time series 9-8 over Monmouth with all nine wins in the series coming at Stagg Field.
* Last season, UChicago fell 34-21 on the road.
* The Maroons have not beaten the Scots since 1980 when UChicago pulled out a 22-21 victory.
* The first-ever meeting between Monmouth and UChicago came back in 1896 when the Maroons brought home a 43-0 win.
