#6 Women's Soccer Travels to #16 Carnegie Mellon

CHICAGO, Ill. -- The University of Chicago women's soccer team will travel to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, for another UAA test. The Maroons will not only be looking for their second conference win, but their second top-25 win on the season as well.  * The Maroons enter Saturday with a 10-0-1 record on the season after extending their unbeaten streak to eleven games with a 5-1 victory over (RV) Illinois Tech on Monday afternoon.  
* The 10-0-1 start to the season is the longest unbeaten start to a year for a UChicago team since they started the 2021 season with a 10-0-2 record.
* The UAA has been outstanding in the non-conference this year with a 69-2-13 record and a goal differential of 266-33.
* UChicago will look to reach their 11th NCAA Tournament in the last 12 seasons with their lone miss since 2013 in 2022. 
Mary Stuart Kerrigan and Kate Bruntlett lead the team with five goals each on the year. Kerrigan joined the five-goal club after her brace in the UAA opener to help the Maroons pick up the 3-2 victory.
Kamiryn Braxton Grimes and Karena Shah follow closely behind Kerrigan and Bruntlett in scoring as well. Braxton Grimes notched her fourth goal in the 3-2 victory, and Shah has found the back of the net three times this year.
Ella Cho leads the team with 5 assists on the season after her two-assist performance in the 2-1 win over North Central (IL).
Amy Reifert has recorded 442 wins in her illustrious career. She sits 6th all-time in career Division III wins and 22nd all-time among all levels of the NCAA.
* Sophia Sasaki has been excellent in goal with a GAA of just 0.66 and 23 saves to go along with 4 clean sheets on the year.
* After Saturday's game, the Maroons will travel back home to prepare for #3 Case Western next weekend.

#16 CARNEGIE MELLON NOTES: 

* CMU enters the weekend with a 9-1-2 record after tying with #2 Emory in their conference home opener. 
* The Tartans haven't lost a game since August when they fell to Bridgewater (VA) at the Marietta College Tournament. 
* The Maroons will be only the second top-25 team that Carnegie Mellon has faced this season. 
* Audrey Bianco leads the Tartans with seven goals on the year. The junior has also tallied two assists for a total of 16 points this season. 
* Saveria Ulizzi is second on the team with five goals this season but hasn't found the back of the net since their win Salisbury in September. In the last two games, she's only recorded one shot on goal. 
* In goal, Abby O'Connor has been a consistent force for the Tartans. In her nine games played, O'Connor has recorded 14 saves. In the match against #2 Emory, she finished with four saves in the full 90 minutes. 
* Carnegie Mellon has only allowed five goals in 2025. 
* Following their match with the Maroons, the Tartans will travel to Missouri for their matchup with WashU on Sunday, October 19. 

SERIES HISTORY:

* Chicago holds an all-time 16-10-6 advantage over Carnegie Mellon. 
* The last time out, the Maroons took the 1-0 win with the lone goal coming from Mary Stuart Kerrigan. Karena Shah was credited for the assists. 
* The last time these two teams played in Pittsburgh in 2023, the match ended in a draw.
