CHICAGO, Ill. -- The University of Chicago women's volleyball team will head to Cleveland for the second UAA Round Robin. The Maroons will play both their matches on Sunday, taking on No. 6 Emory at 11:00 a.m. and Brandeis at 1 p.m. Chicago currently sits at 2-1 in conference play after getting its first top-5 win over WashU.
UNIVERSITY OF CHICAGO NOTES:
* UChicago enters the second UAA Round Robin on Sunday with a 7-9 overall record.
* In the first round robin, the Maroons went 2-1 and currently sit in fifth in UAA standings.
* UChicago has played seven top-20 teams this season. They've compiled a 2-5 record in those contests.
* The wins over #8 Hope and #5 WashU this season now put Coach McPartland at 15 ranked wins throughout his tenure for the Maroons.

Diya Mishra became the 13th player in program history to surpass 1,000 career kills. She sits at 1,067 for her career which ranks 10th in school history.
* Earlier this season, Mishra became the first player since
Maggie McInerney in 2023 to record 20+ kills and 15+ digs in a single match. Mishra recorded 21 kills and 17 digs in the five-set win over #8 Hope College.

Olivia Zamis has dominated the defensive front line as she is leading the team with 53 blocks and 0.91 blocks per set.

Hillary Cheung leads the team with 269 assists. The graduate student averages 5.27 per set, which ranks ninth in the UAA

* After taking on Brandeis and Emory, the Maroons will head back home to host the UChicago Triangular on October 18.
#6 EMORY NOTES:
* Emory enters the match with a 12-2 record and a #6 AVCA Top-25 ranking.
* The Eagles are coming into the weekend on a five-game win streak, picking up their latest win in a sweep over Oglethorpe University.
* Kate LaRocco leads the team with 149 kills on the year. The senior All-American is averaging 3.24 kills per set and a .256 attacking percentage this season.
* With an impressive 352 assists this season, Olivia Rabinowitz has been unstoppable. The senior is third in the UAA for assists per set with 7.65.
* Maggie Regan has been a force a the net with 35 blocks on the year. Eliane Silberman adds onto the defense with 21 blocks of her own.
* Following their matches with UChicago and NYU in the round robin, the Eagles will take on #11 Trinity (Tx.) next Friday night.
BRANDEIS NOTES:
* The Judges come into the weekend with a 6-11 record.
* In the last UAA round robin, Brandeis went 0-3 taking on CWRU, Emory, and Carnegie Mellon.
* Anna Ertischek leads the Judges with 252 kills this season. Averaging 3.76 kills per set, the senior ranks second in the UAA.
* Already having 350 assists this season, Alexa Ho has been outstanding for Brandeis. The sophomore is averaging 6.73 assists per set and has served up 16 aces throughout the season.
* Colette Ejang and Claudia Aber are leading team's defense. Recording 76 of the Judges' total 102 blocks, the duo has been a defensive unit for Brandeis.
* Following their match with UChicago, Brandeis will prepare for Suffolk on Wednesday night at 6 p.m.
SERIES HISTORY:
* The Eagles hold the 44-6 advantage over the Maroons.
* The last time UChicago got the win over Emory was in 2022.
Diya Mishra recorded three blocks.
* Chicago leads Brandeis 31-12 all-time. The Maroons currently hold an 18-game win streak.
