CHICAGO -- The University of Chicago football team travels to Lake Forest in the final game of the season as the Maroons take on the Foresters with a spot in the Smileycookie.com Lakefront Bowl on the line.
UNIVERSITY OF CHICAGO NOTES:
* The Maroons enter the weekend with a 6-2 record overall and a 6-1 record in Midwest Conference play following their loss to Monmouth on Saturday.
* The 6-0 start to conference play for UChicago was their best start since 1913 (7-0) when the Maroons won both the National Championship and Big Ten Championship.
* With a win on Saturday, the Maroons will play postseason football for the first time in program history with a berth to the Smileycookie.com Lakefront Bowl. With a loss, Lake Forest, UChicago, and Illinois College will end in a three-way tie with the bowl participant to be determined by most quarters led.
* UChicago has recorded three shutouts on defense this season for the first time since 2018. The Maroons took down Beloit on Saturday with a 40-0 victory.

Walter Kilgore is the only player in NCAA DIII and one of only eight players in all levels of the NCAA with three 50+- yard field goals made this season.
* The Maroons allowed more than 21 points for the first time this season in the 29-0 loss to Monmouth. The team ranks seventh in DIII in defense with 12.6 points allowed and third in passing defense with just 126.8 yards allowed per game.
* The Maroons rank second in NCAA Division III in third-down defense, allowing opponents to convert 18.3% of the time.

Morrison Giggetts ranks eighth in the country in yards per kickoff return with an average of 29.9 yards per return.

Luke Degner has tallied 30 catches, 618 yards, and 8 touchdowns, and he ranks top-20 in DIII with 20.6 yards per reception.

Jack Ruff and
Max Ruff have each thrown a touchdown pass three times this season. This season marks the first time in recorded UChicago history that a pair of brothers have thrown a touchdown in the same game.
LAKE FOREST COLLEGE NOTES:
* Lake Forest enters the weekend with a 6-3 record overall and a 6-2 record in Midwest Conference play.
* The Foresters dropped their first three games of the year with three tough contests against Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, Illinois College, and Monmouth.
* Lake Forest has shut out their opponents in five of their last six games, and they have averaged outscoring their opponents 58-4 in that span.
* Ethan Springer leads the passing attack for the Foresters with 1,401 yards and 13 touchdowns.
* Lake Forest has been a well-balanced attack all year with seven players over 100 rushing yards and eight players over 100 receiving yards.
* On the defensive end, the Foresters are led by Charlie Fordon and Jackson Sander with a team-high 13.5 tackles for loss.
SERIES HISTORY:
* Lake Forest leads the all-time series 21-16-2 over the Maroons.
* The Foresters took down UChicago 28-9 in their last meeting in 2024.
* UChicago picked up the 15-14 win in the last meeting in Lake Forest in 2023.
* The Maroons have not scored more than 15 points in a game against the Foresters since 2019.
* The first-ever meeting between these two sides came in 1892, with the Maroons coming out on top 18-16.
