CHICAGO -- University of Chicago senior Eamonn Kenah continues to rake in awards after an exceptional opening weekend as Kenah was been named to the D3hoops.com Men's Basketball Team of the Week, as announced by d3hoops.com on Tuesday morning.
Kenah also earned UAA Athlete of the Week honors after averaging 21.5 points per game to help lift the Maroons to a 2-0 start to the season with an 18-point win over UC Santa Cruz and a 30-point win over Trinity (TX).
The Atlanta, Georgia native hit 11 threes at a 65% shooting clip from distance, and he hit five threes in the opening half to fuel a 30-2 run against Trinity (TX). His six threes in the win over the Tigers helped the Maroons break the school record with 18 made threes in the game.
Kenah is the first Maroon since Matt Johnson in the 2011-12 season to earn a spot on the D3hoops.com Team of the Week, and he is just the seventh player in program history to earn a spot on the D3hoops.com Team of the Week.
The 11th-ranked UChicago men's basketball team put their perfect record on the line in a battle of unbeaten teams on November 19 as the Maroons travel to Bloomington, Illinois for a top-20 matchup with #16 Illinois Wesleyan.
