#4 Women's Soccer Tallies Six CSC Academic All-District Honorees

FULL ACADEMIC ALL-DISTRICT LIST

CHICAGO -- The University of Chicago women's soccer team tallied six student-athletes on the CSC Academic All-District Team, as announced by College Sports Communicators on Tuesday afternoon.

The Maroons earning Academic All-District honors include law, letters, and society major, Kamiryn Braxton Grimes; sociology major, Lucy Harrison-Caldwell; economics major, Mary Stuart Kerrigan; business economics major, Indira Naylor; economics major, Jamie Nguyen; and biological sciences major, Sophia Sasaki.

Kamiryn Braxton Grimes was named to the Academic All-District Team after adding an All-UAA selection. Braxton Grimes scored five goals and added three assists for 13 points on the year, and she scored the game-winning goal in the NCAA Tournament opening round win over UW-Superior. During her career, Braxton Grimes has appeared in 45 games with 24 starts with 9 goals and 5 assists, and she was one of only four players to start 20 or more matches this season.

Lucy Harrison-Caldwell earned Academic All-District recognition after earning 1st-Team All-UAA honors in the midfield. The Dexter, Massachusetts major scored six goals and added four assists for 16 points in an excellent season at the number 8 position. Five of her six goals on the year also came against top-25 opponents, including a brace against Brandeis on Senior Day and the game-winning goal in the 2-1 win over Calvin.

Mary Stuart Kerrigan garnered Academic All-District honors after being named a 1st-Team All-UAA selection as a forward. The Mount Pleasant, California native led the team in the regular season with 8 goals, and she has tallied 5 assists and 21 total points on the year. For her career, Kerrigan scored 16 goals with 8 assists and 40 points while appearing in 66 games with 57 career starts.

Indira Naylor was selected for the Academic All-District Team after leading the Maroons with 9 goals on the season, five of which have come in the first four rounds of the NCAA Tournament. The Moraga, California native has added four assists and 22 points to go along with three game-winning goals during her sophomore season. During her career, Naylor has tallied 24 goals and 6 assists for 54 total points, and her 24 career goals rank as the 11th-most in program history.

Jamie Nguyen earned Academic All-District honors after being one of three 1st-Team All-UAA selections for the Maroons. Nguyen scored two goals and added three assists as she led the team in the midfield as one of the top sixes in the country after being one just two players to start all 21 games this season. During her first two collegiate seasons, the Sunnyvale, California native has tallied 4 goals and 3 assists while appearing in all 43 games.

Sophia Sasaki was tabbed with Academic All-District honors after adding an All-UAA selection. The Mountain View, California native tallied 40 saves with just 15 goals allowed for a 0.74 GAA, and she added six clean sheets and 15 wins in goal. Her 15 wins rank as the fifth-most wins by a goalie in school history.

CSC Academic All-District Team honorees are selected by the national organization based on combined academic and athletic performance. Nominees must have a GPA above 3.50 in at least their sophomore year and have played in 90% of their team's games or have started 67% of their team's games. Four Maroons, including Lucy Harrison-Caldwell, Mary Stuart Kerrigan, Indira Naylor, Jamie Nguyen, and Sophia Sasaki, will advance to the Academic All-America ballot, which will be voted on by sports information directors nationwide. The 2025 Academic All-America Team will be announced on Wednesday, December 17.
