CHICAGO -- The University of Chicago football team hits the road for the penultimate game of the season on Saturday as the Maroons travel to Beloit for a matchup with the Buccaneers.
UNIVERSITY OF CHICAGO NOTES:
* The Maroons enter the weekend with a 6-2 record overall and a 6-1 record in Midwest Conference play following their loss to Monmouth on Saturday.
* The 6-0 start to conference play for UChicago was their best start since 1913 (7-0) when the Maroons won both the National Championship and Big Ten Championship.
* UChicago recorded back-to-back shutouts earlier this season for the first time since 2023 with their 52-0 win over Knox and 66-0 win over Lawrence.

Walter Kilgore is the only player in NCAA DIII and one of only six players in all levels of the NCAA with three 50+-yard field goals made this season, joining kickers from Oklahoma, Iowa, Memphis, Jacksonville State, and New Hampshire.
* The Maroons allowed more than 21 points for the first time this season in the 29-0 loss to Monmouth on Saturday. The team ranks 14th in DIII in defense with 12.6 points allowed.
* The Maroons rank second in NCAA Division III in third-down defense, allowing opponents to convert 19.6% of the time.
* UChicago rushed for over 300 yards as a team in back-to-back games in the wins over Lawrence and Ripon. This was the first time the Maroons have achieved this since 2021.

Morrison Giggetts ranks second in the country in yards per kickoff return with an average of 34.4 yards per return.
* Brothers
Jack Ruff and
Max Ruff have each thrown a touchdown pass three different times this season. This season marks the first time in recorded UChicago history that a pair of brothers have thrown a touchdown in the same game.
* Following their clash with Beloit, the Maroons will travel to Lake Forest for their final regular season game of the year. With a win against the Foresters, the Maroons will clinch their spot in the Smileycookie.com Lakefront Bowl in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin on November 23.
BELOIT COLLEGE NOTES:
* Beloit enters the weekend with a 1-7 record overall and a 1-6 record in Midwest Conference play.
* The Buccaneers have not scored in their past two games with a 72-0 loss to Monmouth and a 49-0 loss to Ripon.
* The lone win of the season for Beloit came on October 18 when the Buccaneers took down Lawrence 34-0.
* Jonathan Williamson leads the team on the ground with 110 yards, and Jared Torres leads the passing attack with 687 yards and 7 touchdowns.
* Michael Snow leads the defense with 69 tackles and 5.5 tackles for loss.
* Following their game with UChicago, the Buccaneers will host the Illinois College Blueboys in the regular season finale.
SERIES HISTORY:
* The University of Chicago leads the all-time series 23-14-1 against Beloit with the Maroons riding a 12-game win streak in the series.
* The Maroons rolled past the Buccaneers in 2024 with a 23-3 victory, holding Beloit to -46 rushing yards in the win.
* The last win in the series for Beloit came in 1989 when the Buccaneers won 27-12 at Stagg Field.
* The first-ever meeting between Beloit and UChicago came in 1894 when the Maroons won 16-0 in their third season of college football.
