Mary Stuart Kerrigan and
Lucy Harrison-Caldwell, a pair of University of Chicago women's soccer players, earned their spots on the Scholar All-Region team, as announced by the United Soccer Coaches last week.
Mary Stuart Kerrigan continues to rake in the awards in her illustrious senior season that includes 1st-Team All-UAA, 1st-Team All-Region, 1st-Team Scholar All-Region, and 2nd-Team All-American honors. Kerrigan, a senior midfielder from Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, led the Maroons with eight goals while adding five assists for 21 total points as she helped lead UChicago to their sixth Final Four appearance in program history. A consistent offensive presence throughout her career, Kerrigan appeared in 67 games with 58 starts for the Maroons, and she finished her collegiate career with 16 goals and eight assists for 40 total points.
Lucy Harrison-Caldwell added a 2nd-Team Scholar All-Region selection to go along with her 1st-Team All-UAA and 2nd-Team All-Region honors so far in her junior year. Harrison-Caldwell finished the season with six goals and four assists for 16 total points while leading the Maroons at the number 8 position. Five of her six goals on the season came against top-25 opponents, including a brace against #21 Brandeis on Senior Day and the game-winning goal in a 2–1 victory over (RV) Calvin. She appeared in 19 games with 17 starts as a constant presence in the midfield for the Final Four participants.
The women's soccer team wrapped up their season with a 16-2-4 record overall with their 16 wins ranking as the fifth-most in a single season in program history. The Maroons drew #1 WashU in the National Semifinals before falling in a 14-round penalty shootout, one of the longest in NCAA Division III history.
