CHICAGO -- The University of Chicago women's basketball team will head to Grand Rapids, Michigan, for a tough road test at #25 Calvin. After more than a week off, the refreshed Maroons are looking to bounce back to the win column.
(RV) UNIVERSITY OF CHICAGO NOTES:
* UChicago comes into the weekend with a 4-2 record after their three-game winning streak was snapped in a 73-52 loss to #24 Carroll (WI) on Tuesday night.
* The Maroons picked up their biggest win program history earlier this year with an 84-29 win over the Marian(WI) Sabres.
* Both of the UChicago losses this season have come to top-25 teams, with an overtime loss to #3 UW-Oshkosh and on the road at #24 Carroll (WI).
* The Maroons won 15 games last year in the first season under head coach
Michelle Gardner-Bilek are tied for the second-most wins by a first-year coach in program history.

Annabelle Spotts earned All-Tournament team honors in the opening weekend with 13.0 points and 6.0 rebounds per game. She is averaging 10.2 points and 6.2 rebounds.

Chris Sanders leads all scorers this season with 10.7 points per game and nine made threes through the first six games.

Kasi Samuda tallied a team-high 15 rebounds in the loss to UW-Oshkosh. She became the first player since 2023 to grab 15 rebounds in a single game for the Maroons.
* The Maroons brought in four freshmen in 2025 with two from California, one from Maryland, and one from Wisconsin.

Karen Xin and
Caroline Workman led the Maroons in scoring with career-highs of 16 points in the 85-54 win over Rose-Hulman on Saturday. The duo were two of the five players to score in double figures in the win.
* Following their non-conference matchup with Calvin, the Maroons will host #13 Illinois Wesleyan on Tuesday night before heading into the holiday break.
#25 CALVIN NOTES:
* Calvin enters the weekend with a #25 ranking in the lastest D3hoop.com poll.
* The Knights currently sit at a 4-3 record and are coming off a hard-fought win at Saint Mary's College (Ind.) for their first conference win of the year.
* Calvin entered the poll after after defeating the then #9 UW-Whitewater 61-53 last Saturday.
* Anna Fernandez leads the team, averaging 14.0 points and 6.0 rebounds per game. The senior has only played in five total games for the Knights but has notched on the second most points on the team with 70 total.
* Hannah Sall was named the MIAA Athelte of the Week after her helping her team go 2-0 on the weekend. Against former #9 UW-Whitewater, Sall recorded 13 points, nine rebounds, and nine blocks. In the win over Wilmington, Sall finsihed with nine points and five rebounds.
* Following their game at UChicago, the Knights will take on Albion in their conference home opener next Friday.
SERIES HISTORY:
* Calvin leads the all-time series over UChicago, 2-1, including a 54-51 win in the last matchup between these two.
* The last meeting between the two sides was in 2021. The Maroons have recently lost the last two meetings.
* The lone win for UChicago in the series all-time came in 2011 with a 67-62 win.
