CHICAGO -- The University of Chicago men's basketball team sits as #6 in the D3hoops.com Top-25 Poll, as released on Monday afternoon. The #6 overall ranking is the highest that the Maroons have been ranked since the 2001 season.

UChicago is coming off a 103-64 win over Kalamazoo on Saturday night in which the team led wire-to-wire for over 39 minutes of the game. The 103 points scored for the Maroons are the most in a single game since their 114-107 win over Emory in 2019.

Graduate student Shane Regan (22), Eamonn Kenah (18), Phillip Lawrence (14), and Arhan Lapsiwala (11) led the Maroons in scoring in the win over the Hornets. The team picked up a 39-point victory over Kalamazoo, their largest win since taking down Caltech 88-48 in 2023.

The Maroons, who are sitting at 7-1 on the season, are one of three UAA teams to be ranked inside the top-7 in men's basketball, joining WashU (#4) and Emory (#7).

Shane Regan leads the team in scoring with 17.4 points per game on 49% shooting from the floor this season. Nick Roper is also averaging 15.9 points per game on 50.7% shooting.

Joe Berry leads the team with 4.0 rebounds per game while adding 9.1 points per game, and Daniel Cochran has been the top inside presence for the Maroons with 8.3 points and 8.0 rebounds per game.

The University of Chicago enters the week at 7-1 on the season, and the team is off this week for finals before traveling to Puerto Rico for a pair of games against Susquehanna and #14 Catholic next week.
