CHICAGO -- The University of Chicago women's basketball team sits as #22 in the D3hoops.com Top-25 Poll, as released on Monday afternoon. The #22 overall ranking is the first time that the Maroons have been ranked in the top-25 this season.

UChicago is coming off a 73-65 overtime victory on the road against #25 Calvin on Saturday night. The top-25 road win was the first for the Maroons since they took down #14 Wheaton (IL) on November 20, 2019.

Sophomore Chris Sanders (16), Annabelle Spotts (14), Bri Simpson (14), and Lindsey Carter (10) all scored in double figures for the Maroons to help take down the Knights, holding their opponents without an point for the final three minutes of overtime.

The Maroons, who are sitting at 5-2 on the season, are one of four UAA teams to be ranked inside the top-18 in women's basketball, joining NYU (#1), Emory (#9), and WashU (#18).

Chris Sanders leads the team in scoring with 11.4 points per game on 38% shooting from the outside. Annabelle Spotts is also averaging double figures with 10.7 points per game on the season.

Kasi Samuda has dominated the glass for the Maroons with 8.8 rebounds per game, and Kate Gross leads the team with 2.4 assists per game while adding 6.1 points per game on the year.

The University of Chicago enters the week at 5-2 on the season, and the team will return to action on December 16, as the Maroons take on #13 Illinois Wesleyan for their fourth top-25 game through the first eight games of the season.
