MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The University of Chicago women's tennis team opened ITA Nationals securing a decisive 7-0 victory over Sewanee at the Leftwich Tennis Center on Friday morning. 

The Maroons set the tone early in doubles, earning wins at No. 1 and No. 3 to clinch the opening point. The duo of Oliwia Mikos and Sylwia Mikos made quick work of their opponents, rolling to a 6-1 victory at the top spot. Nicole Geller and Charlotte Klein followed with a 6-4 win at No. 3, giving UChicago the advantage heading into singles play. 
 

From there, the Maroons controlled the match across the lineup, winning all six singles contests in straight sets. Sylwia Mikos dominated at No. 1, dispatching her opponent 6-1, 6-1, while Nicole Geller posted a 6-4, 6-2 victory at No. 2. Erica Ekstrand (No. 3), Sarena Biria (No. 4), and Isabelle Chong (No. 5) each dropped no more than three games en route to commanding wins. Brooke Pedersen completed the sweep with a hard-fought 6-1, 7-5 decision at No. 6. 
 

With the win, UChicago improves to 7-1 on the season and advances to the second round to face fellow UAA foe Emory on Saturday at 1:00 PM CST.
