CHICAGO, Ill. -- The University of Chicago baseball team returns to the Chicago area for one game as they travel to Naperville to take on the North Central (IL) Cardinals at 5 PM on Wednesday.

(RV) UNIVERSITY OF CHICAGO NOTES:

* The University of Chicago sits at 12-4 overall this season after picking up run-rule wins over Hope, Carleton, and Coe during their spring trip to Florida.
* The Maroons won their first six games of the season en route to an 12-4 start in 2025.
* Jackson Slipock earned UAA Hitter of the Week honors last week after he slashed 0.471 / 0.545 / 0,.647 in their four games in Florida. He finished the week going 8-17 at the plate with 3 doubles. 7 runs scored, and 7 RBIs.
* On the season, Braden Jirovec leads the team with a 0.369 batting average, 24 hits, and 23 runs scored.
* Jack Sharp has also been hitting off-the-charts for the Maroons this season with an OPS of 1.108. He has 19 hits with 8 for extra-bases, 19 RBIs, and a team-high 3 home runs.
* Hayden Leiderman has been lights out on the mound this season for the Maroons with a 1.40 ERA and a 0.78 WHIP in his first five starts of the season. Leiderman is boasting a 5.75 K/BB ratio with just four runs allowed in five games.
* Drew Bryan became the second UChicago player in school history to reach 200 career strikeouts on the mound in the loss to Eastern Connecticut State on March 19. Bryan sits at 209 strikeouts for his career, 87 away from the school record.
* Charlie Hahn and David Flanagan are the lone two relievers to not allow an earned run so far this season. The duo have combined to pitch 7.2 innings in 7 appearances with just 4 hits allowed and 11 total strikeouts.
* Following their mid-week contest with North Central, the Maroons will fly to Massachusetts for their first UAA series of the season at Brandeis.

NORTH CENTRAL (IL) NOTES:

* North Central (IL) comes into this week with a 5-11 record overall and a 1-0 record in the CCIW.
* The Cardinals have picked up back to back wins over Illinois Tech and Carthage in the past three days.
* Caleb Coberley leads North Central at the plate with a .393 batting average and 22 hits.
* John Michael Scumaci leads the Cardinals with 9 extra-base hits and 15 runs scored.
* On the mound, Brian Duvall has been the top started for North Central with a 5.91 ERA and 1.92 WHIP.
* After playing UChicago, North Central returns to their home field to take on Elmhurst on Saturday at 2 PM.
