Four Men's Basketball Players Earn Spot on CSC Academic All-District Team

CHICAGO, Ill. -- The University of Chicago men's basketball team placed four players on the CSC Academic All-District Team, as released by College Sports Communicators on Tuesday afternoon. The four student-athletes earning Academic All-District honors include Joe Berry, Eamonn Kenah, Phillip Lawrence, and Jackson Piotrowski.

Joe Berry led the Maroons with 33.2 minutes per game during the 2024-25 season, and he ranked second on the team in points/game (12.0), assists (68), and steals (36). The junior from Topeka, Kansas caps off his third season with UChicago with 841 career points and 98 career steals as he will be closing in on both milestones next season.

Eamonn Kenah finished the season with 31.1 minutes played per game, averaging 10.9 points and 4.1 rebounds for the Maroons. He finished the year ranked top-3 in points, assists, and steals for UChicago while shooting 43% from the floor and 36% from three on the season. The junior from Atlanta, Georgia scored a career-high 25 points in a loss to Case Western on 5-15 shooting from three.

Phillip Lawrence appeared in 24 of the 26 games for UChicago, being the spark off the bench all season long for the Maroons. Lawrence played 15.1 minutes per game and averaged 4.4 points per game on the year. The sophomore from New York, New York had a career game against Wheaton this season with 9 points, 5 assists, and 4 rebounds in the win over the Thunder.

Jackson Piotrowski started 25 of 26 games for UChicago this season, dominating the paint all year long. The senior from Newtown Square, Pennsylvania shot 49% from the floor and 39% from three on the season while averaging over 6 points per game for the Maroons. He scored in double figures three times this season, including a season-high 13 points against Case Western.

The UChicago men's basketball team finished their season with a 16-10 record overall and in third place in the UAA. The Maroons also qualified for their first NCAA Tournament appearance in 17 years, narrowly falling to #7 St. John's (MN) in the first round of the tournament.
