CHICAGO, Ill. -- The University of Chicago women's lacrosse team welcomes in a pair of Region VII foes this weekend as they host the #17 Colorado College Tigers and the College of Saint Benedict Bennies on Saturday and Sunday. Both games will begin at 1 PM CT.
#24 UNIVERSITY OF CHICAGO NOTES:
*Â The University of Chicago women's lacrosse team enters with a 3-2 record overall on the season a splitting their games in Ohio over the weekend.
* The Maroons have earned wins over Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, Kalamazoo, and Kenyon this season with their losses coming on the road to #10 Pomona-Pitzer and #23 Denison.
* Colorado College will be the third top-25 team that UChicago has faced this season. The team has never faced more than three top-25 teams in one season.
* Freshman star
Sora Choi leads the team with 10 goals and 4 assists through the first five games of the season.

Avery Song and
Wynne Boggan have each also added 14 points through the first five games with 7 goals and 7 assists for Song and 6 goals and 8 assists for Boggan.

Jill Hooey and
Peyton McGuire rank top 3 on the team in goals scored this year with 8 and 9 respectively.

Kali Konstantinakos leads the UChicago defensive unit with 15 caused turnovers and 14 ground balls so far this season.

Rachel Keefe has been a star in goal for the Maroons with 47 saves on 89 shots on goal for a 0.528 save percentage this season.
* Following the two games this weekend, UChicago will hit the road for a trip out East as they travel to New Jersey to battle #20 Stevens on March 19 and #13 TCNJ on March 21.
#17 COLORADO COLLEGEÂ NOTES:
* Colorado College enters the week ranked #17 in the IWLCA poll after winning their season opener 16-11 over Claremont-Mudd-Scripps on Sunday.
* Peyton Murphy earned WIAC Player of the Week honors after dominating in the win over the Athenas. Murphy scored 5 goals and added 3 assists to contribute on 8 of the 16 goals for the Tigers.
* Charlotte Iler and Sofia Mancino also added hat tricks in the win with three goals each on Sunday.
* Cassidy Schnauffer had a great game in goal for the Tigers with 12 saves in 23 shots on goal for a 0.522 save percentage.
* Frances Hansot and Meilani Molina stood tall on the defensive end for Colorado College with 8 combined ground balls and 5 combined forced turnovers.
* Following their game with UChicago, the Tigers will travel North to open WIAC play against the UW-Eau Claire Blugolds on Sunday at 12 PM.
SAINT BENEDICT NOTES:
* The College of Saint Benedict enters this weekend's contest with a 1-0 record on the season.
* The Bennies opened the season with a 17-4 win over Edgewood.
* Sami Hackley nearly missed a double hat trick in the win over Edgewood with 5 goals and a pair of assists in the win.
* Emma Nelson added four goals and an assist against the Eagles.
* Nelson and Lilly Fandel Thompson also dominated on the defensive side of the ball with six caused turnovers each.
* Following Sunday's game, the Bennies will return to their home field as they host Hamline on Wednesday evening.
SERIES HISTORY:
* UChicago and Colorado College have met four times in the past three seasons with the all-time series between the two sides level at two.
* The Maroons took the first-ever meetings in 2022 and 2023 with an 11-4 victory and a thrilling 14-13 overtime win.
* Colorado College swept both of last season's matches with a 26-16 win in Colorado Springs in the regular season and a 20-14 victory at Stagg Field in the NCAA Tournament.
* The matchup with Saint Benedict on Sunday will mark the first-ever meeting between the Maroons and the Bennies in women's lacrosse.
