PLATTEVILLE, Wis. -- The Uniersity of Chicago men's track and field team opened the weekend with a pair of student-athletes competing in the Platteville Invitational on Friday night.

Sanju Patel led the Maroons with a personal best time of 14:32.21 en route to a 24th-place finish among all Division III runners in the 5000m Run. The time for the sophomore from Durham, North Carolina ranks 6th all-time in school history.

Liam Eifert also added a personal best time for UChicago as he brought home a 37th-place finish among all Division III runners in the 5000m Run with a time of 14:37.51. The time for the sophomore from Indianapolis, Indiana ranks 10th all-time in school history.

The rest of the UChicago men's track and field team returns to action on Saturday as they travel to Wheaton for the Wheaton (IL) Invitational.
