PLATTEVILLE, Wis. -- The University of Chicago women's track and field team opened the weekend with a pair of student-athletes competing in the Platteville Invitational on Friday night.

Anna Watson led the Maroons with a 7th-place finish for UChicago with a career-best time of 16:52.17. The time for the senior from Pebble Beach, California is ranked 10th all-time in UChicago history, and it ranks as the 10th-best in NCAA Division III this season.

Estelle Snider also added a top-10 finish in the 5000m Run as she finished in 8th place with a time of 16:52.39 in the event. The time for the sophomore from Sparks Glencoe, Maryland ranks as the 11th-best time in NCAA Division III this season.

The rest of the UChicago women's track and field team returns to action on Saturday as they travel to Wheaton for the Wheaton (IL) Invitational.
