ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla. -- The University of Chicago women's tennis team cruised to a 4-0 sweep of Rochester to open the 2025 UAA Tournament on Thursday morning.

UChicago wasted no time stepping on the gas in doubles play as Shianna Guo and Lauren Khou rolled to a 6-1 win at #2 doubles. Then, Sylwia Mikos and Erica Ekstrand capped off the doubles point with a 6-3 win at #3 doubles.

In singles play, it was the bottom of the Maroons' lineup that did the work for the team with three 'bagel' victories. Sarena Biria (#4), Clara Zou (#5), and Isabelle Chong (#6) all won their matches 6-0, 6-0 to complete the 4-0 victory over Rochester. All of the other matches were left unfinished as postseason matches are only played until a team reaches four points.

With the win, the Maroons improve to 18-1 on the season. The team returns to action on Friday afternoon as they take on #10 WashU in the UAA Semifinals at 12:30 PM CT.
