GAME NOTES

CHICAGO, Ill. -- The University of Chicago baseball team will host New York University this weekend for their final UAA series during the regular season. Chicago heads into the game after a dominant win over Illinois Tech on Monday night. 

(RV) UNIVERSITY OF CHICAGO NOTES:

* The University of Chicago sits at 24-11 overall and 10-6 in the UAA this season. 
* Braden Jirovec earned UAA Hitter of the Week honors two weeks ago after leading the Maroons at the plate. He finished with week 8-18 with three runs scored and a pair of doubles.
* On the season, Jirovec leads the team with a 0.359 batting average, 52 hits, and 40 runs scored. He also ranks fourth in stolen bases with 56 in his career and 22 in the 2025 season.
Michael Gladden and Erik Rindner have also added over 40 hits with Gladden leading the team 16 extra-base hits. Rindner leads the team with a 0.473 on-base percentage.
* Rindner sits at 17 career home runs after his long ball on Sunday in Atlanta. He currently sits in a tie for second in school history, trailing only Mark Mosier for the most all-time.
Max Wiesner has had a breakout freshman campaign for the Maroons. His 44 RBIs in 2025 ranks as the 5th-most in school history, just 13 shy of Mark Mosier's single-season record.
Drew Bryan currently sits at 232 career strikeouts which ranks 2nd all-time in UChicago history, just 64 away from the school record.
Russell Kwinter has been lights out on the mound this season for the Maroons with a 2.62 ERA and a 1.11 WHIP. Kwinter has struck out 24 batters while walking just four during his freshman campaign.
* Following the series agaisnt NYU, Chicago will face Concordia Chicago for a single game series. 

NYU NOTES:

* Illinois Tech enters the mid-week game with a 18-14-1 record overall and a 6-9-1 record in the UAA.
* The Scarlet Hawks are just 3-2-1 in their past 6 games.
* The team has lost two straight games after taking one and tying one over CWRU last weekend. 
* Connor Roggero leads the team with a .417 batting average on the year. In 103 at bats, Roggero has recorded 43 hits, 31 runs, and 27 RBIs. 
* Roggero is the lone hitter hitting over .400 for NYU, though the Violets have over 5 batters hitting over .400.
* Following their game with UChicago, the Violets will host Mount Saint Vincent on Thursday afternoon. 

SERIES HISTORY:

* Friday will mark just the second time in program history that the Maroons have played the Violets.
* The first meeting between the two teams came back in 1993 with a 13-10 win for UChicago.
