Peyton McGuire and Evelina Swigart Earn All-American Honors

CHICAGO, Ill. -- The University of Chicago women's lacrosse team caps off their successful season by placing Peyton McGuire and Evelina Swigart on All-American teams this spring.

Peyton McGuire earned 3rd-Team All-American honors by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association. McGuire earned 1st-Team All-Region honors from the IWLCA this season after compiling 49 goals and 64 points, leading the Maroons in both categories. She also compiled 15 ground balls and caused 3 turnovers on the defensive side of the ball to help lead the Maroons to the Sweet 16.

Evelina Swigart was named an Honorable Mention All-American by the USA Lacrosse Magazine. Swigart was a 1st-Team All-Region honoree after a record-breaking season for the senior. Her 29 caused turnovers are the fourth-most in a single season, and her 89 draw controls are the second-most in program history. She caps off her career ranked third in school history with 102 career goals and 62 career assists and fourth with 164 career points. She also broke the school record with 230 career draw controls and finishes second with 74 career caused turnovers.

The Maroons capped off their season with a 13-5 record after reaching the Sweet 16 for the third time in program history.
