UChicago Football Releases 2025 Schedule

6/10/2025 10:40:00 AM

CHICAGO, Ill. -- We are now under three months away from the 2025 UChicago football season which means it is time to break down the schedule. The full schedule can be seen HERE.

The season kicks off on September 6 at 12 PM as the Maroons host the Carnegie Mellon Tartans in a battle of UAA foes. These two teams met every year from 1988 to 2016 with the Tartans leading the all-time series 22-7, but this will be the first meeting between UChicago and Carnegie Mellon in 10 years.

Following their lone non-conference game, the Maroons will kick off a grueling nine-game Midwest Conference schedule with their first road game of the season at Cornell (IA). UChicago will look to improve on their fourth-place finish from a season ago with a goal of earning one of the top two spots for a chance to play postseason football.

The Maroons will play three of their next four games on their home turf at Stagg Field, welcoming Illinois College on September 20, Lawrence on October 11, and Ripon on October 18. The team will also travel to Knox on October 4 for their lone road game over the five-week span. The game on October 11 will the annual Hall of Fame game for the Maroons as UChicago will induct their 2025 Hall of Fame class on Friday night.

After a road contest at Grinnell on October 25, the Maroons will return home for the final time of the season with a Homecoming and Senior Day game on November 1 against the Monmouth Fighting Scots, the second-place team from a season ago. The season will then wrap up with two more road contests against Beloit on November 8 and against Lake Forest, the defending MWC Champions, on November 15.

This season, UChicago will take on two teams that made the 2024 NCAA DIII Tournament. The Midwest Conference champions, Lake Forest, took on Bethel (MN) in the second round of the tournament and fell 48-21 in their opening game. Meanwhile, the lone non-conference game of the year for the Maroons is against the defending PAC Champion, Carnegie Mellon, who reached the Sweet 16 a season ago with a 24-15 win over Centre before falling to Mount Union, the eventual national runner-up, 24-19.

We hope to see you all at Stagg Field on September 6 at 12 PM as the Maroons open a new era of football against the Carnegie Mellon Tartans for the 2025 season opener.
