CHICAGO, Ill. – Mike Sosna, a member of the University of Chicago baseball team, will represent the nation of Poland at the 2025 Prague Baseball Week tournament, held in Prague, Czech Republic, from June 27 to June 30. The full roster for the Polish national team can be viewed HERE.
Poland will compete in Group B and play four games in four days against Slovakia (June 27), Lithuania (June 28), and Switzerland (June 29). The tournament concludes with a consolation game on June 30, in which Poland will face one of the same three teams.
This marks Poland's first appearance in the Prague Baseball Week tournament since 2019, when the team posted a 1–3 record, capped by an 11–6 victory over Belarus. Poland holds a 7–18 all-time record in the event and will aim to win multiple games in a single tournament for the first time since 2012.
Sosna made 11 appearances on the mound during his freshman campaign for the Maroons. The Chicago native pitched 10.1 innings with a 4.35 ERA and tallied nine strikeouts, holding opposing batters to a .243 average. He also tossed 1.2 scoreless innings against UW-Oshkosh in his lone appearance during UChicago's historic first-ever NCAA Tournament run.
