CHICAGO, Ill. -- The University of Chicago women's volleyball team looks to snap their three-game losing streak on Saturday as they take on Macalester and Carleton in Northfield. * UChicago enters the day on Saturday with a 4-6 overall after dropping their past three matches.
* The Maroons fell to St. Olaf in five sets on Friday, and they lost to #5 La Verne and #3 UW-Oshkosh last weekend.
* UChicago has played five top-20 teams this season through their first nine games, and they have compiled a 1-4 record in those contests.
* Last Friday's win over #8 Hope is the 14th ranked win in the Coach McPartland tenure for the Maroons, but it is the first top-10 win by UChicago since taking down #9 UW-Whitewater in five sets in 2022.
* Diya Mishra sits at 986 career kills and is just 14 kills away from being the 13th UChicago player in program history to record 1,000 career kills.
* Last Friday, Mishra became the first player since Maggie McInerney in 2023 to record 20+ kills and 15+ digs in a single match. Mishra recorded 21 kills and 17 digs in the five-set win over #8 Hope College.
* Olivia Zamis has been a menace on the front line for the UChicago defense, leading the team with 37 blocks and 0.88 blocks per set.
* Ellie Maxwell has had an excellent freshman season, leading the team with 177 assists, 17 service aces, and 4 double-doubles through her first nine career matches.
* After taking on Macalester and Carleton on Saturday, the Maroons will travel to Atlanta to open UAA play against Rochester, NYU, and WashU in UAA Round Robin #1.

MACALESTER NOTES: 

* Macalester enters the weekend with a 2-8 record overall on the season.
* The Scots have won two of their past four matches with wins over Lewis & Clark and Caltech despite their 0-6 start to the year.
* Avery Rahe leads the team with 80 kills on the year.
* Hannah Morrow has added 90 digs for 2.57 digs per set.
* Sydney Stratton leads the defense up front with 16 blocks on the year.
* Following their matches with UChicago and Dubuque, the Scots will open MIAC play on Thursday at Hamline.

CARLETON NOTES: 

* Carleton enters Saturday with a 2-9 record overall on the season.
* The Knights have dropped three straight matches to Lakeland, UW-Eau Claire, and Minnesota-Morris after their two-game win streak.
* Rachel Bingham leads the team with 96 kills while hitting .170 on the season.
* Megan Smith has been the facilitator all year with 227 assists and a team-high 11 service aces.
* Ellewyn Swafford leads the team with 18 blocks on the year.
* Following their matches with UChicago and Dubuque, the Scots will open MIAC play on Wednesday at St. Olaf.

SERIES HISTORY:

* This will be the third all-time meeting between UChicago and Macalester.
* The Maroons took down the Scots 3-0 in both prior matchups in 2005 and 2023.
* This will be the third all-time meeting between UChicago and Carleton with the series level at one.
* The Maroons beat the Knights in five sets in 2024.
* This is the first trip to Minnesota by the UChicago volleyball team since they traveled to Saint Mary's (MN) in 2017.
