ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- University of Chicago sophomore Walter Kilgore was selected to the d3football.com Team of the Week as announced by d3football.com on Monday afternoon.

Kilgore was a perfect 3-for-3 on extra points, and he drilled his first field goal of the season with a 50-yard bomb with no time left in the first half to help Chicago stretch their lead to two possessions at the break. The field goal proved to be the game-winner for the Houston, Texas native as the Maroons held on for a 24-21 victory.

The Team of the Week award is the first of the career for Kilgore. He is also the first University of Chicago player to earn d3football.com Team of the Week honors since Braedon Junker and Will Goodman in week one of 2022.

Kilgore and the rest of the UChicago football team takes their bye week this week, but they will return to action on October 4 as they travel to Knox to take on the Prairie Fire.
