Men's Soccer Hit the Road for Non-Conference Showdown at Albion

CHICAGO, Ill. -- The University of Chicago men's soccer team returns to their pitch on Wednesday night as they travel to Michigan to take on the Albion Britons. * The Maroons enter the week with a 3-1-3 record on the season after taking down #17 UW-Eau Claire 4-2 on Saturday.
* UChicago pulled off their first two-goal comeback win since 2019 on Saturday when they turned a 2-0 deficit into a 4-2 victory with four goals in the final 50 minutes.
* Kai Walsh scored the opening goal in the 42nd minute to help jump start the comeback on Saturday, and he provided the assist on Jadyn Hsieh-Bailey's game-winner in the 70th minute to complete the two-goal comeback.
* This game will be the first-ever meeting between the Maroons and the Britons in program history.
* Ali Alamery made 10 saves en route to his first career clean sheet in the 0-0 draw with St. Olaf. His 10 saves are the most by a UChicago goalkeeper since 2012.
* Alamery also became the first UChicago goalkeeper since Will Boyes in 2022 to record four consecutive clean sheets.
* Alamery leads the UAA with 25 saves and 3.57 saves per game. He also ranks 5th in NCAA Division III with four clean sheets on the season.
* Jadyn Hsieh-Bailey has taken the most shots for UChicago with 11 during the first four games, including six shots in the 0-0 draw with Wheaton (IL) last Wednesday.
* Evan Kanellos leads the Maroons in goals this season with a pair of penalty kick goals against MSOE and Hope.
* After Wednesday's game, the Maroons will return to Stagg Field to battle Kalamazoo in a Senior Day showdown on Saturday afternoon.

ALBION NOTES: 

* Albion comes into the week with a 5-0-1 record on the year.
* The Britons have outscored their opponents 21-1 on the season.
* Albion has not allowed a goal in the last 526 minutes of action with the lone goal allowed this year coming in the 14th minute of the season opener.
* The lone match this season that Albion has dropped points in was a 0-0 with #24 Ohio Northern.
* Esteban Mercardo and Xavier Yuille lead the team with five goals on the season.
* Tom Veresh has allowed just 0.17 goals per game with 16 saves and four clean sheets in goal for Albion.
* Following their match with UChicago, the Britons will hit the road to travel to Grand Rapids to take on Grace Christian.

SERIES HISTORY:

* This is the first-ever meeting between UChicago and Albion on the men's soccer pitch.
* UChicago holds a 15-8-3 advantage all-time over MIAA opponents.
* The Maroons drew Hope 1-1 in their lone MIAA matchup earlier this season.
