Men's Soccer Welcomes Carthage to Stagg Field for Tuesday Showdown

CHICAGO, Ill. -- The University of Chicago men's soccer team returns to their home pitch on Tuesday night as they welcome the Carthage College Firebirds for a 7 PM kickoff. * The Maroons enter the weekend with a 5-1-3 record on the season, and they are riding a three-match winning streak with win over #17 UW-Eau Claire (4-2), Albion (5-0), and 
Kalamazoo (2-0) in the past 10 days.
* UChicago is riding an 8-game unbeaten streak, tied for the 9th-longest streak in program history.
* UChicago pulled off their first two-goal comeback win since 2019 when they turned a 2-0 deficit into a 4-2 victory with four goals in the final 50 minutes against #17 UW-Eau Claire.
* Jadyn Hsieh-Bailey led the Maroons in the 2-0 win over Kalamazoo on Saturday with a goal and an assist to contribute to both of the UChicago goals.
* Ali Alamery made 10 saves en route to his first career clean sheet in the 0-0 draw with St. Olaf. His 10 saves are the most by a UChicago goalkeeper since 2012.
* Alamery also became the first UChicago goalkeeper since Will Boyes in 2022 to record four consecutive clean sheets.
* Alamery leads the UAA with 29 saves. He also ranks 3rd in NCAA Division III and 2nd in the UAA with six clean sheets on the season.
* Evan Kanellos leads the Maroons in goals this season with three penalty kick goals and two game-winning goals against MSOE, Hope, and Albion.
* Giovanni Caselli, Jadyn Hsieh-Bailey, Chase Perry, and Kai Walsh have also found the back of the net multiple times this season for the Maroons.
* After Tuesday's game, the Maroons will return to Stagg Field for their UAA opener on Saturday against the NYU Violets.

CARTHAGE NOTES: 

* Albion comes into the week with a 1-3-2 record on the year and a 0-0-1 record in the CCIW.
* The Firebirds are coming off a 4-4 draw with Millikin on Saturday. Prior to that game, they had scored just 3 goals and allowed just 5 goals on the season.
* Juan Ramirez is the lone Carthage player with multiple goals on the season with both coming in the draw with Millikin.
* Aaron The has made 24 saves and recorded 2 clean sheets for the Firebirds to go along with his 1.00 GAA.
* Following their match with UChicago, the Firebirds will return to CCIW play for a home conference match against Illinois Wesleyan on Saturday.

SERIES HISTORY:

* UChicago holds an all-time series advantage of 6-5-3.
* The Maroons also hold a 3-2-2 advantage on their home field.
* UChicago has not beaten Carthage in the past two seasons with a 1-0 loss in 2024 and a 1-1 draw in 2023.
