Javier Martinez joined the coaching staff in the fall of 2022 to help assist in hitting and catching.
Martinez came from College of Dupage where he spent three seasons (2018 - 2020) as an Assistant coach where he spent time developing hitters and catchers. Martinez came back to COD (College of Dupage) after graduating from Northwood University.
At COD where he spent two years prior to moving onto NU (Northwood University), Martinez had a standout sophomore season. Martinez led the nation with 74 RBI's in 2016 as well as earning Region IV player of the year and NJCAA All American honors.
At Northwood, he helped the Timberwolves to consecutive Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference regular season and tournament championships in 2017 - 2018 as well as a pair of NCAA Division II appearances. He was a 2017 GLIAC conference honorable mention and in 2018 second team All GLIAC designated hitter
