Box Score WALTHAM, Mass. -- The University of Chicago women's soccer recovered from a slow start offensively and ended up with a 1-1 tie at Brandeis University on Sunday. The Maroons ran their record to 11-3-3 (3-1-2 UAA) and the Judges ran their record to 9-6-2 (1-3-2 UAA).
Both sides played to a scoreless draw in the first half. Brandeis tallied more statistics in the opening 45 minutes, leading shots 7-1 and corner kicks 3-2.
UChicago's offense started to click in the second half and broke through in the 59th minute. Senior midfielder Micaela Harms hit the crossbar with a shot and junior midfielder Sara Kwan scored on the rebound to give the Maroons a 1-0 lead. However, Brandeis came back to tie the game on Melissa Darling's goal nine minutes later.
After battling through two overtimes, the two teams settled for a draw. Brandeis held the shots advantage 16-11 while corners were even at 4-4. UChicago junior goalkeeper Jacinda Reid (5-2-3) compiled five saves and one goal allowed in 110 minutes.
