UAA Results

WALTHAM, Mass. -- The No. 1-seed University of Chicago volleyball team won both of its Friday matches and advanced to Saturday's University Athletic Association (UAA) Championship match. The Maroons (25-10) will face No. 2-seed Emory University at 1 PM (ET) with the conference title on the line.

The Maroons began the day with a 3-1 victory over No. 8-seed University of Rochester. UChicago took the first two sets handily 25-19 and 25-14. The Yellowjackets rallied back late to win the third set 25-23, but the Maroons finished off the match in the fourth 25-13.

UChicago avenged its only conference loss with a 3-0 sweep of No. 5-seed Carnegie Mellon University by scores of 25-22, 25-11, 25-20. Previously, the Maroons went 6-1 in regular season conference play, with the only blemish coming against Carnegie Mellon 3-1 on Oct. 20.
