Box Score 1 | Box Score 2

CHICAGO, Ill. -- The three seniors on the University of Chicago softball team made their final home games memorable as all three contributed to a doubleheader sweep of Beloit College 10-0 and 12-1 on Monday.

The Maroons improved to 17-15 while the Bucs fell to 7-29.

Senior Day festivities took place between games for the three UChicago seniors - Kim Cygan (P), Jacqueline Ryan (OF) and Vicky Tomaka (INF). Over the past four years, the trio has helped guide the Maroons to a cumulative record of 91-52-1 (.635 winning percentage).

Game One - UChicago 10, Beloit 0 (5 innings)

Cygan was in control from the onset and ended up hurling a five-inning no-hitter from the pitching circle. Cygan (7-8) struck out a season-best 11 batters while walking three.

UChicago scored first in the opening frame. Ryan reached on an infield single, stole second and scored on Kristin Lopez's RBI single through the left side. The Maroons kept adding on to their lead in the second inning, starting with Raechel Cloud's RBI sacrifice fly. Ryan slapped a two-run triple to the left field corner, and Lopez immediately followed with an RBI triple of her own to make the score 5-0.

Three more runs came in via errors in the third inning. Kaitlyn Carpenter's RBI single up the middle made it 9-0, and Tabbetha Bohac's RBI single up the middle closed out the scoring in the fourth inning. The game ended after the top of the fifth inning due to the eight-run rule.

The Maroons finished with 15 hits, including two doubles and two triples. Ryan and Lopez both went 3-for-3 with two RBI each. Maddie McManus was also 3-for-3 with a pair of doubles. Carpenter hit 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Game Two - UChicago 12, Beloit 1 (6 innings)

Beloit got its first hit and first run of the afternoon with a lead-off homer in game two. The Maroons soon evened it up with a solo home run by Maddie McManus in the second inning.

UChicago jumped ahead 2-1 in the bottom of fourth with three-straight singles as Tomaka provided the RBI. In the fifth, the Maroons scored on an error and Kathleen Kohm's RBI single pushed the lead to 4-1.

The sixth inning featured eight runs from the Maroons. McManus doubled and scored on a wild pitch to start the fireworks. Jordan Poole stroked an RBI single up the middle and a fielding error put another run on the board. Bohac knocked a run-scoring single to left field, and Julia Covello ended the proceedings by belting a grand slam homer to center field.

The Maroons racked up 13 hits, with McManus going a perfect 3-for-3 again at the plate. Covello, Tomaka and Carpenter all tallied two hits each. Poole (8-6) earned the pitching victory, throwing six innings with two hits, one run, four walks and seven strikeouts.
