The Maroons were aggressive on the base paths all day and took advantage of every opportunity. The visitors stole nine bases in the game, with two each by senior outfielder Kaitlyn Carpenter, senior third baseman Maddie McManus and sophomore shortstop Kristin Lopez.

UChicago quickly went ahead 3-0 in the first inning. Sophomore first baseman Kathleen Kohm hit a sacrifice fly to bring the first run in. McManus stole home as part of a double steal and senior catcher Zoe Oliver-Grey singled up the middle to score another run.
