Box Score GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The University of Chicago women's soccer team was stymied by Calvin University in a 2-0 road loss on Saturday afternoon.
The No. 13-ranked Maroons dropped to 5-2 on the season. The Knights improved to 6-0.
The first half was all Calvin, as the hosts outshot UChicago 10-3 and scored their goals in the 35th and 39th minutes. The second tally came via penalty kick.
The Maroons pushed in the second half to get on the scoreboard with more offensive chances. However, the Knights held sway to pick up the shutout.
Calvin owned box score advantages in shots (18-11) and corner kicks (8-6). Sophomore Livia Sabloff was responsible for both shots on goal for the Maroons.
Sophomore goalkeeper Sophie Pilarski took the loss with five saves and two goals allowed.
