CHICAGO – The University of Chicago women's indoor track & field squad won the Aurora University Grand Prix team title on Saturday.
The No. 5-ranked Maroons placed first of 19 teams at Gately Indoor Track & Field facility. They scored 125.5 points to hold off second-place Loras College (119.5 points).
UChicago swept the top five places in the one mile, led by Maddie Kelly's winning time of 4:53.94. That mark is currently the best time in NCAA Division III. Kelly broke her own school record in the event as well.
In the pole vault, Susannah Truitt triumphed with a top clearance of 3.80 meters. She now ranks third in the nation with that height.
Additionally, Claudia Harnett submitted a runner-up performance in the 800 meters. Her time of 2:14.73 currently ranks fifth nationally.
