WALTHAM, Mass. – With a tough 1-0 loss to NYU a week ago in their rear-view mirror, University of Chicago men's soccer was looking to get back on track in UAA play against Brandeis on the road. Unfortunately, the offenses for the Maroons and Judges were stymied as the two teams had to settle for a 0-0 draw on Saturday afternoon.
RESULT
No. 17 University of Chicago – 0
Brandeis – 0
HOW IT HAPPENED
- No. 17 University of Chicago (6-2-4, 1-1-1 UAA) came out swinging against Brandeis (3-5-5, 1-0-2 UAA) and sent nine shots towards the net of the Judges in the opening 45 minutes. The home team tried to do the same with five of their own but neither team was able to convert in a scoreless first half.
- UChicago doubled up Brandeis in shots 10-5 during the second frame but again offense came at a premium at Gordon Field. Only three of the Judges ten shots ended up on net and all three were turned away by keeper Will Boyes.
- However, the same could be said about the effort for Brandeis' netminder. He stopped six Maroon shots, which included three in the closing minutes of what would end up being UChicago's fourth tie of the year.
