Men's Soccer Scoring Draught Continues At CWRU

CLEVELAND, Ohio – University of Chicago men's soccer returned to the pitch on Friday evening looking to kickstart their offensive efforts. Held scoreless in two straight contests, the Maroons still couldn't get anything to find the back of the net in a tie against Case Western Reserve on the road.

RESULT
No. 24 University of Chicago – 0
Case Western Reserve University – 0

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • No. 24 University of Chicago (6-2-5, 1-1-2 UAA) last scored a goal in their match against Carthage back on October 4th. Case Western Reserve University (7-2-3, 1-1-2 UAA) last found the scoresheet back on September 30th. Needless to say, both teams were hoping to get their offense back into gear when they met in Cleveland.
  • Unfortunately, there were no goals to be had once again for UChicago. They attempted a total of eight shots, four of which had to be saved, but still couldn't switch the zero to a one on the scoreboard.
  • However, the Maroons defense has been one facet that they have been able to rely on and that continued to be the case on Friday. The UChicago defense gave up just one shot on net and lowered their season goals against average to 0.85 in the 0-0 tie with the Spartans.
