CHICAGO – After snapping their scoreless streak with an offensive outburst one week ago, University of Chicago men's soccer tried to keep that momentum going when they welcomed No. 6 Emory to the Windy City. The Maroons weren't able to string together two straight high scoring games, but they were able to knock off the 2023 UAA champions with a 1-0 shutout on Saturday.

No. 6 Emory – 0
No. 24 University of Chicago – 1
HOW IT HAPPENED
- With the regular season quickly coming to a close, No. 24 University of Chicago (8-2-5, 3-1-2 UAA) knew they needed to come up with a big victory over No. 6 Emory (11-2-3, 5-1-0 UAA) to really bolster their postseason position. They began with a barrage of shots towards the Eagles net, nine in the first half to be exact, and their attack efforts paid off when defender Jack Leuker found the back of the net in the 37th minute.
- Emory figured out the UChicago offense after the intermission and outshot them in the second half 3-2. That adjustment meant that the Maroons defense would be relied upon the rest of the way, and they came up big.
- UChicago held the Eagles to just five shots overall with keeper Will Boyes only having to stop two of those attempts. Emory's last shot in the contest came with over 20 minutes left to play as the Maroons get a big win over a top 25 team and dealt Emory their first conference loss of the year.
