HOW IT HAPPENED
- The physicality of tonight's match was set early on as the Maroons and the Violets gritted against each other in the midfield for most of the start. NYU's offensive was one of the most aggressive Chicago had faced all season.
- The Violets' pressure found them a goal at 28:43 as Bryce Chan found the net on the high right side for the match's first score. Within a couple of seconds, NYU used their momentum to draw out the Maroons and net another to put the score 2-0.
- In the final 45, UChicago came out with a whole new level of intensity. On the defensive side, the Maroons held them scoreless, but still struggled with putting their balls into the net. Though the ball was traded back and forth between the two teams, NYU took possession for more time than Chicago.
- For one of the first times this year, Chicago was outshot on goal. NYU took a total of seven strikes and four corners. The Maroons took only two shots on goal, though all five strikes were taken in the second half of the match. In addition, Chicago only recorded two corners.
