ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Heading to New York for their first weekend of UAA play, the University of Chicago women's soccer team fell to the University of Rochester by a score of 1-3. The contest was the first conference matchup for both teams.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Maroons opened up the scoring as Anna Thomann stormed through the Yellowjackets and tossed the ball to Kamiryn Grimes for the first goal of the match. Within 35 minutes, Chicago was on the board.
• Before the end of the half, Rochester was able to tie up the match off a late score from Lauren Blanch. As halftime loomed, Sophie Pilarski already had two saves to the Yellowjackets five shots. The Maroons had taken seven shots themselves.
• In the final 45, Rochester extended the lead by two goals. Though UChicago took eight attempts at the net, no goal was able to cross in. In comparison. The Yellowjackets goalie recorded a total of six saves on the day.
