HOW IT HAPPENED
- For the Foresters, things started clicking early on as they jumped out to a 15-4 lead in only six minutes of play. The Maroons fought back with a few made threes, but the efficient scoring from Lake Forest pushed them through the Maroons growing momentum.
- A fast break layup by Daniel Cochran, assisted by Joe Berry, brought Chicago within eight. Another three by Eamonn Kenah and a score by Berry gave the Maroons the boost they needed. As the offense started falling into place, the Forester's deficit was cut shorter and shorter. Heading into halftime the Maroons were only down by eight.
- In a match that almost looked over at a point in the second half, the Maroons found themselves on an 11-5 run as a quick three by Berry brought the Maroons within three with only 38 seconds left. As Chicago called a timeout the team had to foul and were down by four after a made free throw from the Foresters. Berry nabbed a steal and fished for a layup, but time ran out on the Maroons as they lost 70-68.
