HOW IT HAPPENED
- No. 19 University of Chicago (1-0) started their quest for a fourth straight CCIW championship in style against Lake Forest College (0-1) at home. The Maroons opened the game with four straight goals, two of which came off the stick of Olivia Escoffery. The Foresters would eventually get one of their own before four more UChicago shots found the back of the net. This pattern remained for the rest of the first quarter that found the Maroons up 11-2 entering the second.
- While that was their most dominate frame, the Chicago offense didn't stop there. They netted four in the second, triggering the running clock with 14:07 left to go in the half, while 11 more tallies followed in the 30 minutes after halftime.
- The Maroons had four man-up goals and dominated the draw control 17-9. On the individual side, 11 different players scored with five of them having multi-goal games in a 23 point victory over the LFC to move to 1-0 on the young season.
