CHICAGO – Back at home after a week off, (RV) University of Chicago women's lacrosse welcomed North Central to Stagg Field. All facets of the Maroons game excelled on Wednesday as they held the Cardinals to just a single goal while matching their highest offensive total of the season in a 26-1 win.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Normally you don't score the game winning goal with more than 58 minutes of game time left but that is what exactly what happened when (RV) University of Chicago (7-4, 3-0 CCIW) midfielder Wynne Boggan tallied her unassisted strike to put the Maroons up 2-0 with 13:58 left to go in the opening quarter. That frame would go on to be their most productive of the evening as they threw up 12 on the scoreboard and entered the second without allowing a single goal to North Central (7-4, 2-1 CCIW).
• The Cardinals finally found the back of the net with 5:35 left to go before halftime and snapped a 15-0 UChicago run by doing so. However, that would be their first and last point of the game as goalie Rachel Keefe stopped the only other shot that came her way while the rest of the defense held NCC to just three attempts overall. They also forced the Cardinals to cough up the ball 16 times compared to their six throughout the game.
• UChicago was a perfect 6-for-6 in clears and struck gold on three of their four free position shots as 14 different players found the scoresheet with either a goal or an assist. Nearly the same amount came up with at least one ground ball as 11 Maroons scooped one up in their dominate 26-1 victory.

CHICAGO COMMENTS

• With her seven assists today, third year student-athlete Jane Chen broke the Maroons career assist record. She'll go into the final games of the 2024 regular season looking to build on her total that currently sits at 116.
• Tonight's game marks the fourth time they have reached the 26 point threshold in a contest this season.

The Maroons will wrap up their 2024 regular season home slate with two contests this weekend. First up will be CCIW foe Augustana on Saturday, April 20^th and they'll look to take down the Vikings starting at 1:00 pm.
