Eau Claire, WI – (RV) University of Chicago volleyball finished out the 2024 Sandy Schumacher Memorial with back-to-back wins on Saturday afternoon.
Diya Mishra was named to the All- Tournament team. The Maroons now hold an impressive 10-2 record for a powerful start to the season.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- vs St. Catherine University
- UChicago had a well-rounded offensive effort with multiple players contributing significantly. Though only one player finished with double-digit kills, six different Maroons recorded a kill.
- UChicago's defensive play was equally impressive, helping to limit St. Catherine's scoring opportunities and maintain control over the match. St. Catherine recorded only 26 kills the whole afternoon. The Maroons also finished with a season-high 10 blocks.
- Ava Novak led Chicago with 10 kills while Amelia Gibbs recorded nine kills and five blocks. Peyton Minyard rounded out the top three with seven kills.
- vs Concordia College (Minn.)
- UChicago rallied after dropping the first set to win the match 3-1. The Maroons' experience showed in their resilience throughout the match.
- In the third set, the Maroons held Concordia to the lowest points they've held a team to in one set this season. Scoring a consecutive eight points off serves by Isabel Cai, the Maroons jumped out to an early lead after the holding the Cobber's to seven points.
- Several players stepped up offensively, with Emma Lotts leading the team with 13 kills, and Peyton Minyard contributing 10 kills.
WHO'S ON DECK
Next up the Maroons will head to Michigan for the 2024 Albion Invitational hosted by Albion College. UChicago will start play on Friday at 5:00 pm against the host team.
