WHEATON, Ill. – No. 25 University of Chicago women's soccer left Wheaton College with a 2-0 win on Wednesday afternoon. After suffering their first loss of the season this weekend, the Maroons bounced back to collect their second shutout of the year.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Sophomore Kaitlyn Gomez started the 45th minute with a goal into the top right corner to put point for the Maroons on the board. Freshman Indira Naylor provided the assist. This became Gomez's first score of the season.
- To widen the gap early in the second half, Lucy Harrison-Caldwell sent a pass to the left side for Anna Thomann to knock in. The sophomore from the UK netted her first in a maroon uniform in the 71st minute of the match to give Chicago a 2-0 lead.
- The Maroons took a season-high total of 42 shots on the pitch. The 22 that came during the first half set the tone for aggression the team would put out throughout the game. UChicago also recorded 10 corner kicks.
- The Maroons put the defensive pressure on strong as the Thunder were not able to put a singular attempt on the stat sheet for the entire game. As the Wheaton College goalie tallied 22 saves for the match, where the Maroons recorded none.
