HOW IT HAPPENED
  • vs Baldwin Wallace
    • In almost a repeat of yesterday's game, the Maroons jumped out to another early lead as dominant serves from Klaudia Barbarossa gave UChicago a 13-6 leverage. The Yellow Jackets came close as they cut the deficit to four, but a slam from Keeley Kandziora sealed the win in set one.
    • Sets two and three showed the same dominance the Maroons held all day. Outscoring Baldwin Wallace in almost every category by seven points, there was no sight of slowing down the pressure.
    • Diya Mishra led all teams with 14 attacks and three blocks. Amelia Gibbs and Thalita Marangon followed behind with eight and seven of their own. Gibbs also recorded a team-high seven kills in a dominating defensive performance.
  • vs Albion
    • UChicago took on the host in a competitive match to three sets. Closing out the win with a 25-9 win in the third set, the Maroons showed efficient consistency on both sides of the ball.
    • Defense played a huge role in the win as Chicago recorded a total of six blocks and 56 digs. Gabi Spellings finished with five stops at the net. In addition, the 10 aces helped overpower them in the end.
    • Peyton Minyard had a great stat line as she collected nine kills, Mishra also had nine to add for the Maroons. Grace Xu ended with 19 assist and Isabel Cai with 18.
