HOW IT HAPPENED
- In one of the toughest matches of the season, the Maroons topped No. 13 NYU. It was one of their best offensive performances with over 72 total kills on a 23% attack percentage. The Maroons total kills was almost 15 more than the opponents.
- After losing set one, UChicago jumped to a 17-9 lead in set two after slams by Keeley Kandziora and Diya Mishra pushed them to the top. The momentum kept exploding and as the Bobcats pushed on for points, the Maroons answered back to close out the set 25-17.
- Set three was barely taken back by NYU as they won 25-23, but just as they thought the match was theirs Chicago went on to take sets three and four in a dominating fashion. Not letting the Bobcats get above 14 points on the board for either, the Maroons recorded a total of 27 completed attacks to round out the match.
- In a career game, Diya Mishra recorded 23 kills, Keeley Kandziora added 15 and Peyton Minyard tallied 10. Four Maroons finished with double-digit kills on the night. In addition, Chicago had seven aces for the match.
