Santa Cruz, CA – University of Chicago women's soccer finished their time in California with a huge win over the host, UC- Santa Cruz. In a match that came down to the last goal, the experience of the Maroons propelled them to the end.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- vs UC-Santa Cruz
- For the first time this season, the Maroons we're not the first team to score. The Banana Slugs scored in 17 minutes, though UChicago quickly answered back scoring within the next three minutes.
- Both teams first two goals were scored within three minutes of each other. The Maroons out shot Santa Cruz 14-9. In addition, UChicago also had eight corner kicks to the Banana Slugs' one.
- The game winning goal came in the 79th minute by Indira Naylor. The freshman from California recorded her first career hat trick, scoring all three goals for the Maroons in the win.

Next up UChicago will travel to Calvin University for their match on Saturday, Sept. 14. Kickoff is set for 12 pm.
