The win improves UChicago's record to 9-2, marking a strong start to their season and keeping their momentum high as they open University Athletic Association (UAA) play.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- From the opening tip, UChicago set the tone, dominating both ends of the floor. Despite a slow start from long range in the first half, shooting just 2-16 from beyond the arc, the Maroons were able to build a 34-21 lead by halftime. The defense was stifling, forcing Kalamazoo into difficult shots and limiting them to just 36% shooting in the first half.
- In the second half, UChicago turned up the heat, especially from three-point range, connecting on 10 of 20 attempts from deep. The Maroons shot a scorching 51.4% from the field in the second half, extending their lead throughout and never allowing Kalamazoo to mount a serious challenge. UChicago's offensive depth was on full display, with 32 points coming from the bench, showing the team's ability to execute even when rotating in fresh legs.
- UChicago's defense was equally impressive, limiting Kalamazoo to just 30.8% shooting from the field and forcing them into 13 turnovers. The Maroons controlled the paint with 32 points in the lane, and their defense held Kalamazoo to just 22 points in the paint.
- Key performances came from several players, with Thomas Kurowski leading the charge, scoring 13 points in 19 minutes of play. He was efficient, hitting 4-10 from the field, including 2-6 from three-point range. Joe Berry also contributed strongly with 12 points, while Daniel Cochran recorded a double-digit effort with 11 points and 10 rebounds in 20 minutes, providing a dominant presence on the glass.
